ENO Contemporary was founded in 2005 to directly support ENO’s most innovative projects: new commissions, creative initiatives and groundbreaking collaborations across the arts.
This dynamic group enables ENO to commit to producing cutting edge work and invest in new operas.
ENO Contemporary directly supports ENO’s new commissions, including those from our Composer-in-Residence, and new productions of existing works with internationally acclaimed contemporary artists such as Anish Kapoor.
The group also helps to support a number of pioneering schemes such as ENO House Composers for professional composers at the start of their career, the ENO Artist-in-Residence, and a new multi-disciplinary research partnership between UCL and ENO.
Membership starts at £5,000 per year. We ask for a commitment of three years of membership, to ensure that we can continue to invest in new commissions and future projects.
By supporting ENO Contemporary you will enjoy the highest level of access to our outstanding contemporary work.
For each production that the group supports, opportunities will include:
- Meetings with the composer or director during rehearsals
- Sitzprobe and Stage & Orchestra rehearsals
- A special reception with members of the creative team and cast
- A First Night pre-show talk, post-performance party and complimentary programme
- A detailed production report
